Named for their long blue tongue, these reptiles are covered in overlapping scales, similar to fish. They are not aggressive, but when they need to ward off predators they will stick out their blue tongue, puff up their bodies, and make a loud hissing noise.

In the wild: Insects, other reptiles, and some plant material
At the Zoo: Greens, fruits and vegetables, beef, and hard-boiled eggs
